Anatom® has been involved in delivering specialist footwear and biomechanics training for the past 14 years.  Anatom Academy® was created as the platform for delivering our new-style training courses to a wider spectrum of the market. 

 

-       Flexible tailored training solutions are available for specialist footwear retailers and medical professionals. 

-        We focus on identifying the common causes of poor fit.

-        We offer specialist training courses for all types of footwear including running, cycling, outdoor, golf, all winter sports and all field sports including football rugby and cricket.

-        For medical professionals we provide points based training packages for all aspects of the profession.  More details of these courses are available on request.

 

With our extensive knowledge of the footwear market we know that a basic understanding of foot shape and function coupled with a practical knowledge of the footwear you are selling will lead to increased sales through higher levels of confidence and customer satisfaction, something every retailer strives for in today’s competitive market!

 

We offer a systematic approach to selecting, fitting and selling footwear.  The increased confidence gained by attending the Anatom Academy will increase staff enjoyment of their job and by giving them the know-how and the tools to go that extra mile.  Demonstrating good service is much cheaper than advertising it!

 

Currently on offer two levels of training courses:

 “A1 Foundation”, A2 Advanced''  

Each course concludes with a written exam.  Candidates must successfully pass both the exam and the practical modules in order to receive their certification and your training log-book.  If any part is failed the test can be re-taken at a later date.

 

A1 Foundation: a one day course designed for new footwear department staff or existing staff wishing to further their knowledge.

 

A2 Intermediate: a hands-on practical course over two full days advancing and putting to the test all the theory and techniques acquired on the “A1 Foundation” course.

 

Course fees:

 

Level A1 Foundation         -  £50 + vat

Level A2 Intermediate      - £250 + vat

 

The “A2 Advanced” course is non residential, allowing you to make your own accommodation requirements to suit your budget.  A list of accommodation is available on request.

 

On booking the “A1 Foundation” course you will be invoiced for the sum of £50 plus VAT as a non-refundable booking fee. For the “A2 Advanced”  the fee is £100 plus VAT.

One day “A1 Foundation Course”

 

The Anatom Academy® “A1 Foundation course” is designed to help maximise sales and staff confidence in the footwear department by improving general knowledge of the key elements of successful fitting.  A Powerpoint presentation is followed by three hands-on workshops demonstrating; How to Test for Fit, The Basic Biomechanics that you need to know to do a professional job and How Feet are Properly Measured.  Further discussions relating to the course subjects will take place during these three workshops and there will be ample time for individual questions and answers.

 

It is essential that candidates bring along their own, preferably technical, footwear in order that they can work on them and experience for themselves the significant improvements that can be made. 

 

Those who have attended other fitting courses, such as the Phil Oren FitSystem®, and wish to refresh their knowledge are most welcome at the course.

 

Course Content:

 

·       Basic Biomechanics

·       Understanding elongation

·       Understanding the different volumes of feet and footwear

·       How to select the correct insole

·       Sock selection

·       How to select the correct footwear

·       How to modify footwear

·       How to maximise sales of footwear and accessories

·       Written exam

 

Each candidate will receive:

 

·       Morning and afternoon coffee

·       Lunch

·       A pair of Superfeet advanced insoles & Teko socks

·       Course notes & Anatom pen

 

Successful candidates will receive:

 

·       Certificate of Competence

·       Training Log Book

 

A1 Course Autumn 2009:

  

Manchester - 12th October 2009

 

Ambleside - 14th October 2009  

 

London - 19th October 2009  

  

 

“A1 Foundation course”  9.15am registration for a 9.30am start.  Course ends 17.00.

 

''Evening training course''  19.15 registration for a 19.30 start.  Course ends 21.45.

Two day “A2 Advanced Course”

 

The Anatom Academy® “A2 Intermediate course” is designed to be a “Hands-on” experience.  All aspects of the “A1 Foundation course” will be covered but in much more detail.  Both days are filled with interesting topics and full candidate participation.  We advise candidates to arrive the night before the course as we start at 9am sharp and a long two days are ahead of them!  Anyone applying to do this course needs to have passed all of the “A1 Foundation Course” modules.

 

It is essential that candidates bring along their own, preferably technical, footwear in order that they can work on them.

 

Course Content:

 

·       Intermediate Biomechanics

·       Common injuries & problems caused by poor biomechanics

·       Foot analysis, what to look for when fitting footwear

·       Measure feet using the Brannock Device®, understanding the Brannock measurements and how

     to implement them

·       The different types of orthotics and how they work

·       The importance of socks

·       Footwear selection

·       Testing for optimum fit

·       How to maximise sales of footwear and accessories

·       Identifying when there is a need for a Custom orthotic device

·       Footwear care and maintenance

·       Written examination

·       Practical examination

 

Each candidate will receive:

 

·       Morning and afternoon coffee

·       Lunch

·       A pair of Superfeet advanced insoles

·       Course notes & Anatom pen

 

Successful candidates will receive:

 

·       Certificate of Competence

·       20 minutes of one-to-one mentoring

 

Cost: £250 plus VAT

 

A2 Course Venues Spring 2010:

  

We will look to be running the course in Bicester in Spring 2010.

 

New dates for Anatom Academy Level 2 course will be anounced soon.

 

 

  

 

 

Evening Course Content:

 

The evening course is a shortened version of the A1 full day course.  The evening consits of a structured presentation covering biomechanic principles, understanding & fitting orthotics.

 

All attendees will receive a pair of Superfeet insoles.
